Demos from Loretta’s Pole Barn in the U.P.

End of August – Just two weeks away from delivering demos via the cloud to Chris (the producer for my next project), I hopped in The Great Escape and made my way north to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and my hometown of Munising.  I needed space to delve into all the material and there’s just something about the stillness of this small town on that crystal bay that delivers.  Loretta (aka Mom) was kind enough to let me set up shop in the pole barn. There I was able to carve out my own, sweet niche amongst fishing shanties and lawnmowers, snowmobiles and the old Fraser.  I found that the best time to get my heart into that sacred space of creativity was late evening in the company of crickets.  Here are a few shots of my make-shift studio with the song Stone Bright Solid that will be on the upcoming album. The crickets are on retainer.
