75

A gray stripe on
fluttering flag
I follow south
the world around
cast
in sepia
this early spring
this far north
waiting to discover
technicolor
My tires trace length
determined fingers
reach for
hem of garment
where I am shaken into sky
swimming deep
blue currents
along the coast of my
homeland
Looking back
unfurling fabric of land
streams from
the pole that anchors
all colors
bleeding to white
I float
surrounded by continents
I am air.
